What is Powder Coating?
Powder-coating
is covering (an object) with a polyester or epoxy powder, which is then heated to fuse a protective layer.
Some items can be “laser marked” that has powder coating. But, in many cases the powder coating is not fully vaporized or removed by the laser engraving process. With most black cups and those with thicker powder coat jobs, the results are acceptable. Over time as the item is washed and scrubbed lightly with a “Scotch Bright” pad… most if not all of the residue will disappear.
What is Yeti Hydro Dipping?
Hydrographics or HydroGraphics, also known as immersion printing, water transfer printing, water transfer imaging, hydro dipping or cubic printing, is a method of applying printed designs to three-dimensional surfaces.
I do not do any, Hydro Dipping. But I may be able to remove parts of the dipped item with my laser. Who wants to be the first guinea pig for me on this project?
